Hi!
Thanks for stopping by. My name is Shantell and I am the chef behind Soul & Caribbean
Cuisine. I have been passionate about cooking food for as long as I can remember.
Nothing excites me more than cooking up a much appreciated home-cooked meal
for family and friends.

My family and close friends see and love my ability to create delicious home-cooked meals.
For me the ability to cook was not inherited; it was grown out of love.
Over the years, I was coached in the art of cookery by some of the best chefs.
Grandpa, mama, uncle and auntie all provided a helping hand in my education. Not to mention
my 9 children who keep me very busy ranging in age from 16 years to 3 months.
I'm always in practice.

Like most southern cooks, I learned to cook by taste.
Gathering up the main ingredients for any recipe is easy.
The hardest part of cooking by taste is adding a pinch of this and a little of that;
just to please everybody.

Soul & Caribbean Cuisine Caterers was formed, and continues to operate on the premise of
providing value, uncompromising quality of product, and service, with innovation and creativity.

Prestigious clients have included: Film Stars, Corporate Giants, Government, Club and Religious
Leaders and Foreign Dignitaries.

Whatever kind of gathering is proposed, our Soul & Caribbean Team will pull it off in style.
We work with the client every step of the way, from arranging the perfect location, to
creating the appropriate theme, ambiance, and menu, adding just the right touches start to
finish.

Honey Jerk Wings

3 lbs Wings
3 TBS honey
3 TBS Jerk Spice
1 tsp soy sauce

Preheat over to 400 F”
Season chicken with 2 TBS Jerk
spice .1 TBS honey, mix together
well. Bake for 35 min. Drain juice
from pan. Mix remaining ingredient
in bowl and pour over wings. Bake
5 min.  May add tsp cayenne
pepper for hotter wings
Steamed Cabbage
1-1½ lbs. Cabbage cut into med. pieces
1 cup of mixed vegetables
2 TBS Vegetable spice
½ cup water
Pinch of salt (optional)
1 TBS of oil

Heat: med-high
Add oil to sauce pan, add mixed vegetables
Add vegetable spice,mix vegetables . Add  
cabbage.  30 seconds later add water
Cover for 1- 2 minutes remove from heat.
